A ride to the next galaxy!
During my last visit to California, I had the opportunity to visit the California Science center.
This is a rocket engine from the retired Endeavour space shuttle. Endeavour first launched on May 7, 1992 for mission STS-49 and stopped flying after the last mission in may 2011.
"Endeavour successfully completed 25 missions into space, including the first service mission to the Hubble Space Telescope, as well as the first mission to add a U.S. component to the International Space Station." I love this picture because it reminds me how much evolution in engineering this rocket has gone through to make it to space.
